Founded in 1933, and incorporated in 1955, the Monterey County Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the ongoing preservation of Monterey County history. The Society is responsible for a massive collection of family, city and county archival materials.
The Monterey County Historical Society's digital collection at California Revealed consists of texts from the 1830s through the 1850s. The collection includes criminal documents, civil documents, and land ownership documents from Monterey during the Mexican Republic Era of California.
