Description
As agriculture in Inyo County declined due to the purchase of land and export of water by the City of Los Angeles, tourism was promoted by local government, citizens groups, and business as a viable economic option. Fishing and other outdoor experiences began to be advertised in order to foster visitation by urban residents seeking vacation experiences. Today, tourism is the primary economic driver in Inyo County.
