Segments include tapes of 1982 lowrider happenings, Aztlan Dance Co. performance; studio performance by dance group Latin Illusions; documentary tape produced by Juan Espinoza on labeling of Chicano/Latino youth as gang members and discussion with Espinoza; tape of performance by Teatro Gusto of "The Leash;" studio discussion with student perspective on local junior high school closure. Barrio Expressions was a community access television show documenting Chicanx and Latinx life in the East San Francisco Bay Area. It ran on Hayward cable television from 1976-1985. While the shows were filmed primarily in the Hayward area, they include stories from around the East Bay and San Jose. The show aired weekly, with 26 episodes per year.
