Barrio Expressions: Fueller Neighborhood Meeting, July 24, 1980
Live shows circa 1980. Segments include studio guests from local "Latin Ladies" softball team and tape of their game against the Latin Angels at Hopkins Junior High School in Fremont (Richard Martinez, coach); studio guest Martin (?) "Topo" Martinez from the A Street area of Hayward talking about gang violence and barrio rivalry; tape of community meeting regarding proposed community center on Fuller Avenue in Hayward. Barrio Expressions was a community access television show documenting Chicanx and Latinx life in the East San Francisco Bay Area. It ran on Hayward cable television from 1976-1985. While the shows were filmed primarily in the Hayward area, they include stories from around the East Bay and San Jose. The show aired weekly, with 26 episodes per year.
