Barrio Expressions: Barrio Conflict Tape
Barrio Expressions was a community access television show documenting Chicanx and Latinx life in the East San Francisco Bay Area. It ran on Hayward cable television from 1976-1985. While the shows were filmed primarily in the Hayward area, they include stories from around the East Bay and San Jose. The show aired weekly, with 26 episodes per year. The first 7 minutes of the tape is part of a telethon, unrelated to Barrio Expressions, in the customer service offices of United Cable in Hayward as they sign up customers for Showtime; the second portion of the tape is multiple takes of an apparent dramatization of gang violence filmed outdoors. It appears to be part of the same series as Creacion Collectiva Los Cerros Senior Boys Club.
