Description
Sales Depot California Nursery Co., circa 1920s. Two automobiles parked in front, a man standing next to the entrance. Black and white, original. See pg. 59, Niles, Fremont (unreferenced book): 'The California Nursery Company moved into a new type of business when it opened a sales depot next to the railroad track at Nursery Avenue. In 1917 the nursery corporation was acquired by the Roeding family from the William Landers estate. Roeding Sr. then took the well-known California Nursery name as an umbrella for all his existing nursery operations. This was the beginning of a nursery brand name and the first chain of retail garden stores in Northern California.'
