Pioneer Society of Washington, Eden and Murray Township. 1880. Dry Creek Pioneer Societies of Alameda, Murray, Eden Townships. (Copy of originial, some of which are in museum collections). Copies made in 1971. The first meeting of the pioneer society was November 29, 1876 and the last meeting was December 8, 1906 in Centerville of which Henry Dusterbery and William Barry were the surviving present. Henry Dusterberry died April 11, 1919 at age 89. The records of the Pioneers and Argonauts Club were turned over to his son Frank. T. Dusterberry to be put in the care of Washington Parlor of Native Sons of the Golden West. The Argonaut Club eligibility was to be a member of the W,E,M Township Pioneer Society. After the first meeting no one was admitted. It was held at the Riverside Hotel in Alvarado on March 23, 1885. The table was set for 21 at each meeting and the chair of any deceased draped and turned and was to continue until the last man ate alone. When only a few of the aged members remained, the club discontinued the banquets. The last held in Hayward March 23, 1893.
