La Reata briefly comments on the changes that will take place in a post-war society and the need for the college to also change. There is mention here about the college's athletic program, and that it was one of the few junior colleges to keep its program alive during the war years. Among the campus clubs a Veterans' Club is listed for the first time. The purposes of the club are to 'assist veterans in common problems of readjustment' and to offer the opportunity for veterans to get to know each other.
