Description

This is a poetry reading by Ines Hernandez and Darryl Babe Wilson and talk exploring the important educational insights of the tribulations and positive aspects of Californian Native American history and its value as a source of inspiration for Native artists today. Ines Hernandez is a Nez Perce/Tejana writer. Hernandez discussed her work in oral history and photographic archival research, which she conducted with and about her family on the Nimipu (Nez Perce) side. Darryl Babe Wilson is an A-juma-wi/Atsuge-wi writer and poet whose work has been published in a multitude of journals. Wilson is known for his work interviewing native people along the West Coast from Alaska to Mexico.
