An interview with Brian Thompson, one of the founders of the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society, Pacific Coast Chapter. Thompson discusses the origins of the Pacific Coast Chapter in the late 1930s and its relations with other rail-fan organizations. He discusses how Gilbert Kneiss and Fred Stindt began acquiring railroad equipment that became the core of the California State Railroad Museum’s holdings. Some of the prominent rail-fans mentioned in the interview are Grahame Hardy of Oakland, Guy Dunscomb, Arthur Lloyd, Lucius Beebe, Charles Clegg, and Fred Stindt.
