Description
Came to Chino 1903. Ready for 8th grade, Miss Thatcher, teacher. Big brick school, Mr. Murphy, Principal. 1907 Mr. Lefter built telephone office. First telephone operators her mother appointed chief operator and her daughters including Mrs. Don Palmer. Chino's Old Opera house, used for graduations in Chino. Sun Aft. horse and buggy rides to Cucamonga. Bought 30 acres and had charge of 100 acres and leased Diamond Bar Ranch and Cal Aero land for farming. Did custom bailing for other farmers. They raised horses and cattle, horses were for the cowboys. AM Beet Sugar Co. - 5 bailers, 6 men per bailer, they used to carry 600 acres of hay in the barn. Tebo Ranch. Easter party. 4th of July parties in the barn.
