Description
The Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park Advisory Committee meets with the California State University, Bakersfield, Black Student Union to discuss the history of Allensworth on the occasion of 1977's Black History Month. Chairman Al Green delivers a slide presentation on the work of the Advisory Committee, the Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park, former Allensworth pioneers, and the struggle to bring the park to dedication. Green also discusses the United States Bicentennial, the contributions of African American soldiers beginning with the Revolutionary War, and Colonel Allen Allensworth's military career. Questions are taken from Student Union members.
