Description
This tape is labeled as recording work by Thomas McGrath, Gene Frumkin, and Lawrence Lipton. Though all published in Coastlines, the main group would publicly split in the late 50s causing a culture war. Lipton, who was the primary spokesperson for the Venice Beat enclave and author of The Holy Barbarians, took credit for first introducing Beat poets Allen Ginsberg and Gregory Corso to Los Angeles. McGrath is regarded by many as the most influential poet in Los Angeles poetry during the 1950s.
