Unedited interview with Fred Ross. Ross was the West Coast Director for Industrial Areas Foundation. He is not of Mexican descent but discusses the work he does in slum areas and the problems facing Mexican Americans. They discussed topics such as: developing a mass organization of minorities to solve community problems, the organization of Mexican American field workers, civic and worker's unions, his work to increase voter registration, and the role of organizing as a means of avoiding riots and protesting.
