Episode of the weekly KEMO-TV music show The Jay Payton Show hosted by legendary Bay Area emcee Jay Payton and includes performances by musical groups Fresh, The Black Resurgents, The Tent of Darkness, dancers The Fantastic Four, and special guest Delacey White of the Uptights. The show was a weekly entertainment show featuring national and Bay Area African American musicians and performers. Jay Payton was the heart of the Bay Area's African American music scene serving as the emcee at numerous clubs in San Francisco and Oakland and introducing and promoting many jazz and R&B musicians such as Lou Rawls, Dorothy Dandridge, Billy Eckstine, Johnny Mathis and Della Reese. For 29 years (1968-1997), Payton also served as the emcee and producer of the Top Star Awards, an annual music award show for Bay Area African American R&B musicians.
