Description
We believe this film is an interview with Gus Cashbaugh, one of the first pioneer descendants born in the Owens Valley. This film could provide historic documentation of ranching and rural lifestyles in the Eastern Sierra in the late 1800s to the 1900s. Gus Cashbaugh's family came to the Bishop area in 1865. He was born in the late 1800s and was a well known rancher in the community. He was considered a local historian and considered a primary source of knowledge during the Owens Valley Water Wars. This film could provide first hand accounts of life in eastern California from the 1800s to the 1900s.
