Nov 6, 1971 [KPFT reports on 11/6/71 KPFA news. b) (program clipping) 8:00 Benson Grove: People's Park - II? Students camp in a meadow across the road from Sonoma State College. Rent-free trailers and buses, portable toilets and two Planning Commission meetings later, the movement appears to be growing, despite the Chancellor, the trustees, the county bureaucracy and the landlord. Produced by Sheila McAleenan and Pat English [May 1972]. IIa) (program clipping) Rent on Ice. Community Control of Housing. The housing crisis is a major issues in the US today. Since September, Berkeley Tenants Organizing Committee has been going door-to-door and holding mass meetings to involve tenants in the implementation of a rent control character amendment which passed in last April's elections. They are now running candidates for the Rent Control Board elections coming up in January.
