Description
Two recordings. Parts 1 and 2 are Senate staffer George Reedy giving a broadcast on St. Patrick 's Day, paying tribute to SFPD Chief Homicide Inspector Frank Ahern and Homicide Inspector Thomas Cahill for their investigative work for the Special Committee to Investigate Organized Crime in Interstate Commerce, aka the Senate Crime Investigating Committee. The Committee was chaired by Senator Estes Kefauver (Dem. Tennessee). Ahern and Cahill had testified during the Committee 's visit to San Francisco in 1950. Also includes general praise for the Irish. Part 3 is Senator Kefauver of Tennessee praising and thanking Ahern and Cahill for their service, as well as the San Francisco Mayor and Chief of Police for their cooperation., Additional Descriptive Notes: Parts 1 & 2: March 17, 1951
