Tells of being a first generation American of Mexican and Filipino heritage. Growing up in the Los Olivos area of Upland and attending Chaffey and Upland High Schools. In 1959, he joins the US Air Force at age 18 and goes to Lackland Air Force for training. He is selected to be in the Air Police and then he is stationed at Moron Air Base in Spain as part of the Air Force's Strategic Air Command (SAC). Talks about the B47s, armed with nuclear weapons and F104 aircraft at Moron. Talks about Base alerts when President John Kennedy was assassinated and during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
