Rod Martinez is interviewed about his father, Ramon Martinez. Ramon Apolonio Martinez's family was from Mexico, he was born in Kansas. Martinez played baseball in school, he was later recruited by the Dodger's baseball team. During World War II, Martinez joined the Army Air Corps. He was assigned to 479th Fighter Group, stationed in England. Martinez flew a P-38.
