Spring Concert Festival 1997: Strings and Soul: A Meeting of World Masters

UCLA Ethnomusicology's 1997 Spring Festival of World Music included a special improvisation concert, "Strings & Soul: A Meeting of World Masters," featuring internationally renowned musicians and faculty members Kenny Burrell, Shujaat Khan and A.J. Racy. Burrell performed on guitar, Khan on sitar and Racy on buzuq and 'ud, offering the audience a rare mix of string instruments from the artists' respective American, Indian and Arab traditions.
