Interview with Riley Quoyavema conducted at the Southwest Museum on February 25, 1991. Mostly a discussion of Mr. Quoyavema's paintings of kachinas in the collections of the SWM in which he identifies the subjects and provides information on their roles. Mr. Quoyavema also discusses influences on his art, including Fred Kaboti, Jack Hokeah, Awa Tsireh, Tonita Pena, Julian and Maria Martinez, Nampeyo, Waldo Mootzka and former Museum director F. W. Hodge. The oral history includes much biographical information including his education (American and Hopi), the formation of the Santa Fe Art School, Hopi ceremonies, kachina carvings, Hopi art, and the Battle of the Little Big Horn.
