Oral History Interview with Louis Demas

Louis Demas is the youngest son of Stella and Pete Demas. Louis was born in Sacramento in on July 13th, 1939. His parents were both Greek immigrants. His mother, Stella, was born in 1920 in a village outside of Tripolis called Palandriom. She moved to the United States in 1930 with her first husband Angelo who passed away in 1935. Stella then met Pete, who was around 16 years older than her, and married in 1936. Louis' parents were business owners and worked in the restaurant or bar business in the Sacramento area. Louis enlisted in the Army out of high school and later got a law degree from Arizona State. He moved back and settled in the Sacramento area in 1978.
