Description
A public relations fire prevention message created for the California Division of Forestry, designed for public viewing. Dramatized scenario of a fire caused by reckless disposal of hot ashes, describes and demonstrates all the resources (and the costs) it takes to manage a large scale wildland fire. Stresses the costs of providing tools, meals, sleeping areas and direction for firefighters, and the costs to homeowners in the path of the flames. Shows the command, planning, suppression, supply and service functions required to organize a large-scale firefighting effort and provide tools, supplies and meals for those involved. Good shots of an Incident Command Post and Base Camp set up in the field.
George Fox production for the Division of Forestry, features George Walsh as Ranger George Taylor.
