From left: John Carroll, J. Paul Swickard and Joan Blondell at a Strand Theatre safety plaque dedication in the late 1930s. These safety plaque signings were public relations events and the plaques were later installed on the sidewalk to promote safe street crossing. This image was provided by Donald R. Swickard for inclusion in the Foto East LA collection.
