Description
The National Guard recaptured the Sacramento Southern Pacific Railroad passenger station from the striking railroad workers. With armed guards the first train left the station July 11, 1894, only to be wrecked a few miles west of the city, on land now traversed by the Yolo Causeway. The accident, in which several people were killed, was determined to be an act of sabotage by the strikers; Original measurements: 1 photographic print mounted on 10 x 12 in. board
