Description
Issei female, born July 1, 1904. Mrs. Deguchi immigrated to the U.S. in 1923 after an arranged marriage in Japan. The Deguchis bought farm land with a group of families under the name of a Nisei. Mrs. Deguchi was head of the family, managing the strawberry farm and family
father-in-law controlled money. In 1942 when she was forty-two, Mrs. Deguchi had six children, ages one to seventeen. The family went to Pinedale Assembly Center in Fresno, then to Poston, Arizona.
