Interview with hotel busser and UNITE HERE Local 2 member Alfredo Carleto. Carleto is originally from El Salvador and arrived in the U.S. when he was seventeen years old. At the time of the 2004 strike, Carleto was an employee at Crowne Plaza Union Square, one of the first four hotels to go on strike. Carleto served as a picket line captain during the strike, ensuring that those who signed up completed their assigned shift hours.
