It was part fishing village and part amusement Park, a place for families to stroll among one of the Long Beach shops and restaurants. It includes Tom Cod's, the Spanish Kitchen, Dearden's Fish Market & Stony's Tackle Shop. Sportfishing was the great recreation in Southern California in the 40's, 50's & 60's and Pierpoint Landing was the heart of it. Every week, thousands of fishermen came down to Pierpoint to go out on boats like the Matt Walsh & the Hurricane and the Victory & the America. They went home with bags of full of fish and thrills enough to last a lifetime. , Color 28 minutes video.
