Dr. Glenn S. Dumke was the longest-serving Chancellor in the California State University System, and most the most important figure in setting policies and practices during the system's first two decades. The Commonwealth Club is a non-partisan educational forum, and the speech is given at a time the system was navigating California's most intense period of social unrest.
