The Huntington Beach Pier is a prominent feature of the Southern California Coastline. Listed on both the California Register and the National Register of Historic places, it is an international tourist destination welcoming thousands of visitors each year. It is home to numerous noteworthy events including the US Open of Surfing. The structure was documented in the Historic American Engineering Record as HAER CAL, 30-HUBE,1-, now held by the Library of Congress. It was severely damaged by a storm in 1986, then again in 1988. By 1990, most of the structure was condemned and had to be rebuilt. This film shows a next step in the removal of the iconic Lifeguard Tower from the pier prior to demolition. It appears to be a separate film and not a continuation of AU0012.
