Cover photo is two "Dutch girls" in the nursery's Display Gardens in springtime with daffodils. It includes bulbs, floral designs by Frances Roeding, apples from Albert Etter, fruit trees, new roses including AARS and 'Peace' rose. The California Nursery Company sold palms, roses, ornamentals trees and shrubs, and fruit trees from 1884 to 1971. The nursery imported plants, propagated plants, and sold them domestically and abroad. The owners were prominent horticulturalists: John Rock 1884-1904, George C. Roeding 1917-1928, and George C. Roeding, Jr. 1928-1972. The nursery provided plants for world's fairs, industrial, residential, government projects, as well as landscape services during the 1920s and on.
