From February 1–10, 1985, BAMPFA hosted a tribute to Hungarian-born Hollywood director Andre de Toth. The tribute included screenings of 6 films across three nights. These recordings from February 1–2 feature de Toth discussing b-movie productions in Hollywood in the 1940s and genre filmmaking. Toth also took questions from the audience about the four films shown: DARK WATERS, NONE SHALL ESCAPE, PITFALL, and MONKEY ON MY BACK. Introduced and moderated by film historian Anthony Slide.
