Interview with one of the founders and first president of the board of Ya-Ka-Ama Indian Education. John Trippo was arrested in 1970, for trespassing on the surplus federal land that would become known as Ya-Ka-Ama (Our Land). The group of occupiers was inspired by the American Indian Movement and the takeover of Alcatraz Island. He discusses the occupation and arrests of students and activists.
