Recorded for the Lambda Archives of San Diego's 20th anniversary. The community positions Aaron Borovoy has held throughout the years and the honors he's received are plentiful. Postitions held: President, Temple of Emmanuel in Del Cerro neighborhood of San Diego- The first openly gay President of mainstream synagogue in San Diego, Board of Directors - Imperial Court de San Diego, Secretary - AIDS Memorial Task Force, and Member - Grocery Hearts Organizing Committee. Honors recieved: Special Commendation - San Diego Mayor Maureen O'Connor, Special Commendation - San diego City Councilmember John Hartley, Crystal Heart Award Award by Update newsmagazine, and Mosaic Wolf Emperor of the Imperial Court de San Diego. Aaron Borovoy even has a day named after him- Councilmember Toni Atkins proclaimed May 13 "Aaron Borovoy" Day in the Third District.
