The Asian & Pacific Islander Student Union (APSU) was a statewide network of student organizations formed in the 1970s in response to the Regents of the University of California vs. Bakke decision that weakened affirmative action programs in the United States and ultimately paved the way for California to ban such programs altogether in 1996. This collection of slides documents the organizational and recreational pursuits of APSU during their most active years from the late 1970s to the early 1990s, shedding light on some of the most important yet least recognized activism of that era in California.
