The front cover is an illustration of the state of California with fruits located where they are grown. Back cover describes the history of the nursery "Our 100th Anniversary." Note that the 100th anniversary is of the establishment of "Rock's Nurseries" in San Jose in 1865. The name California Nursery Company was taken on in 1884 when John Rock and partners established the nursery in Niles. It alspo includes roses, fruit trees, grapes, nut trees, planting instructions, flowering trees, deciduous shrubs and trees, shade trees, and berry plants, as well as photos of the front entrance, nursery office, and growing grounds. The California Nursery Company sold palms, roses, ornamentals trees and shrubs, and fruit trees from 1884 to 1971. The nursery imported plants, propagated plants, and sold them domestically and abroad. The owners were prominent horticulturalists: John Rock 1884-1904, George C. Roeding 1917-1928, and George C. Roeding, Jr. 1928-1972. The nursery provided plants for world's fairs, industrial, residential, government projects, as well as landscape services during the 1920s and on.
