Description
Issei male, born on May 5, 1897 and immigrated to America at the age of fifteen as a Yobiyose (""one who is called""). His parents were already in the United States and sent for him. They owned a Sacramento boarding house, the Sandaikan, whose residents were single men, married couples, young families. Kazuo worked at a cannery, California Packing Corporation (CPC) in Sacramento. In 1921 he married Isao in Japan and brought her to farm tomatoes and sugar beets in Dinuba, Fresno and Davis. In 1942 at the age of forty-five, Kazuo and his family went to Walerga, California, Tule Lake, California and Topaz, Utah. One of his seven sons served in the U.S Army, Military Intelligence Service
five others served in subsequent wars. The family moved to Elk Grove, California to to farm tomatoes and hops and where Kazuo attained his U.S. Citizenship.
