Eighth oral interview (of 9 interviews) with photographer Albert (Al) C. Weber (1930-2016) conducted by Donald R. Anderson on March 1, 2002. Two specific topics are goal of this interview: 1. What interested Weber in teaching and what influence does he think he had on his students. 2. How did teaching influence Weber's personal work.
Weber discusses his earliest influences, Jack Thomas (Denver, CO), a studio portrait photographer with whom he apprenticed, Alfred Abdoo (1915-1982) and Charles Mulkey of Monterey Peninsula College. He talks about his education and mentors as well as his time teaching night school at Monterey Peninsula College.
