This photograph depicts dancers from the Andreas Pavley Ballet (possibly Pavley-Oukrainsky Ballet) performing "Hungarian Czardas", at the Mason Opera House, Los Angeles. Dancers include Charlotte Ade.The Pavley-Ourainksy Ballet was founded in 1922 by Andreas Pavley and Serge Oukrainsky and was Chicago's first independent ballet company which toured nationally and internationally until Pavley died in 1931. Photo is from a tour at the Mason Opera House in Los Angeles California. Choreographer and ballet dancer Adolph Bolm produced ballets for the company before he moved to San Francisco and established the San Francisco Opera Ballet (SFOB) where he led as the ballet master. Charlotte Ade Gilbert was Vincent Silk's wife. They married 1953. She was a dancer for the Dorothy Kilgore Group, performed with the Pavley-Oukrainsky Ballet (one of the earliest ballet companies in America) and with the Fanchon & Marco circuit.
