Oral interview with George Clarkson, born 1929, in Bishop, California. Stories relate to Mr. Clarkson's father's employment with Southern Sierras Power Company, early ranching life in the Owens Valley, specificlaly Alfalfa ranching, the Narrow Gauge Railroad, the founding of the Spark Plug Mine and other mining ventures located in the White Mountains, bootleggers at Yellow Jacket Springs, and anecdotes about local characters including Dutch Pete and Richie Conway.
