Reel 1:
Segment 1 (silent): Very short clip of a pair of glasses on a floor, what may be a blood on the floor, and a woman carrying an infant wrapped in a blanket out of a house, down a driveway as a police officer watches. This may be part of a story on homicide charges against Helen Bacigalupi, accused of killing her former husband Gerold Bacigalupi.
Segment 2 (silent): Extensive coverage of a blazing fire. Script reads, "A raging fire broke out shortly after one this afternoon near San Jose's downtown area. Four firemen were injured fighting the blaze. The fire, at the Selix Corporation at 347-349 Montgomery Street, sent a huge column of smoke into the air. 25 men and four pieces of equipment responded to the stubborn blaze. Employee Virgil Wallrod discovered the blaze when he returned from lunch. By the time fire units arrived, the blaze had a head start. The firm manufactures hand and auto part cleaners. The cause of the blaze was undetermined. Paper wrappers on stored cans were burning fiercely, making it impossible to move in on the flames to combat the fire. Fireman Gary Scheinkert was the first man injured. He fell when his knee became wedged between two pipes. He was treated at the scene. Fireman John Kerns was the next man immobilized. He suffered from smoke inhalation, as did fireman Wen Wheatley. A fourth unidentified fireman suffered cuts, but he was treated and returned to duty. Firemen spent over an hour before the flames were finally contained. Arson investigators are still combing the charred ruins of the sheet metal building. It was totally destroyed. The blaze did thousands of dollars worth of damage."
Segment 3 (sound): Republican gubernatorial candidate George Christopher makes remarks to camera, references his civil rights stand and the fact that he has renounced all connections with extremist organizations. According to script, "Christopher said tonight that automation, far from being a danger to labor, has created the worlds highest living standard...the former mayor of San Francisco, speaking to the Sunnyvale J.C.'s distinguished service awards banquet, was also asked about a statewide candidates preference poll that was released today..."
Reel 2: Silent shots of a large gathering of African-Americans inside a hall with stage, cameraman, audience close-ups, one woman is holding the Western Advocate newspaper with headline, "Negroes Sparkle in Political Spectacular." Panel of people at two tables on the stage with podium in the middle. Interview with William J. Williams. Script reads, "William J. Williams promises a vigorous campaign to become the first Negro to hold state-wide office in California. The 35-year old field representative for Congressman Augustus Hawkins of Los Angeles received the endorsement of the Negro Political Action Group meeting in Bakersfield this weekend. He said he'll seek the endorsement next month of the California Democratic Council. He told the 550 delegates in Bakersfield that he is putting the power structure in the Democratic Party on notice and that he will not tread lightly on discussing issues. Williams spoke with Channel 11's Murry Westgate in Bakersfield..."
