1959 wildland firefighter training film. Part of the “Hand Tool" series of four films created for the California Division of Forestry with George Fox Productions for training California's wildland firefighters in the 1960's. Used prior to the advent of formal courses to instruct firefighters in the proper care and safe use of cutting tools (Pulaski, Axe & Brush Hook) for wildland firefighting. Many concepts remain applicable to wildland firefighting even to the present day. George Walsh appears as the instructor.
Best copy of film composite print included with separate original production 35mm optical soundtrack. Original film negative believed destroyed due to deterioration.
