Alice Shaw: born 1888 in Illinois. Came to calif. in 1919. Parents born in Illinois in 1851 and 1861. Her husband's name was Ralph, owned garage on A st. and later worked for Drew carriage co., died in1951. Alice taught school in Illinois. Worked for Frazers in Pomona. Started her Hostess House in her home in 1933, later sold the business. She did teas for Chaffey College for 25 yrs and for Claremont colleges. Allison: born in 1918 in Illinois. Graduated from Chaffey High and College. Was a Daily Report writer. Talks about German detention camp in Chino.
