This film, from the Whole Earth Festival Records, begins with footage of the UC Davis campus. Campus locations featured include: Baggins End (the Domes), greenhouses, Recreation Hall (Pavilion at ARC), Segundo Residence Halls, the water tower, cows at the dairy, and Environmental Horticulture. Scenes of Village Homes in Davis are also included. Whole Earth Festival footage, which begins at 15:53, includes festivities on the Quad as well as brief interviews of two individuals. One speaks about the Hydropot which featured a new kind of hydroponics system and the other discusses alchemy and evolution. The Whole Earth Festival (WEF) began in 1969 when an art class taught by Jose Arguelles held an “Art Happening" on the University of California, Davis campus. Following the United Nations’ declaration of “Earth Day" in 1970, the second “Art Happening" (1971) was renamed “Whole Earth."
