In partnership with over 250 libraries, archives and museums (and growing), California Revealed provides free digitization, digital preservation, and online access to books, documents, photographs, audiovisual recordings, and ephemera that tell the incredible stories of the Golden State.
Happy Harvest Season!
We have had a rich and transformative year and
we are glad that our end-of-year harvest is a full and happy one.
We redesigned our new website,
launched a new funding opportunity for outreach initiatives,
established an onsite camera,
hired new staff, and more...
What is the purpose of digitization and preservation without community access and connection?
Want to develop an exhibit?
Host a community digitization day?
Sponsor an archives crawl?
Host a screening or talk?
We're offering $5,000 awards to promote your collections!
In order to foster community discovery, engagement, and use of digital collections, we are pleased to announce a new funding opportunity called "Our Collections, Our Communities."
From the north to the south, we're traveling to a town near you to introduce the California Revealed program:
Sacramento - Thursday, June 6, 2019
La Quinta/Palm Springs - Monday, June 10, 2019
San Diego - Friday, June 14, 2019
San Francisco - Monday, June 24, 2019
Watsonville - Monday, July 22, 2019

We'd love to meet you and your collections!
Do you have collections related to local/regional/state history that you'd like to digitize and put online?
In order to "reveal" more of California's history, the State Library invites smaller libraries, archives, and history museums to apply for up to $10,000 for a project to process and catalog California-related library and archival materials from their unprocessed collection backlogs. Awarded projects can begin as early as June 1, 2019 and must be completed by August 31, 2019.
Eureka! It's our new newsletter!
We are happy to announce
new grant opportunities,
and a new website in the making...
