Founded in 1957, the Mariposa Museum and History Center houses a large array of exhibits interpreting Native American, Spanish Settlement, California Gold Rush, Yosemite, and Mariposa County History. The Mariposa Museum and History Center's digital collection at California Revealed consists of texts, moving images, and audio recordings from the 1850s through the early 2000s. The collection includes historical newspapers like the Mariposa Chronicle and the Mariposa Gazette, as well as recordings of oral histories with local residents.
