The Los Angeles Valley College Historical Museum was founded in 1975 by Dr. James Dodson. The mission of the Museum is to collect, preserve, and promote historical artifacts as it relates to the history of the San Fernando Valley.
The Los Angeles Valley College Historical Museum's digital collection at California Revealed consists of still images, texts, and audio recordings from the 1900s to 2000s. The collection includes many oral histories and images concerning local history of the San Fernando Valley, as well as an extensive run of the Colorado Aqueduct News, published by the Metropolitan Water District, and many papers related to William Paul Whitsett, an early land developer and commissioner for the L.A. Department of Water and Power.
