The California State Library collection contains text and still images spanning from the late 1700s through the modern era. This expansive collection contains California Automobile Registrations, local and industry newspapers and newsletters, California magazines, and include subjects and topics such as the motion picture industry, State budgets, the diversity of California, and much more.
The California State Railroad Museum Library and Archives collection contains audiovisual material (moving images, audio), texts, and still images from the 1860s through the 2000s. The majority of the collection consists of ephemera related to the railroad industry - including railroad advertisements, time tables, dining car menus, and train car images - and covers subjects and topics such as the Southern Pacific Railroad Company, the Santa Fe Railroad company and more.
The Kern County Library collection contains audiovisual material (moving images, audio) from the 1950s to the 2000s. The majority of the collection consists of oral history and nonfiction films, including an interview with John Steinbeck.
The Mill Valley Public Library, Lucretia Little History Room collection contains texts and images from the 1860s to 1930s. A majority of the collection consists of portraits and photographs of residents of Mill Valley, Marin County, California. Included also are train tickets and time cards from the early 1900s.
