The Center for Sacramento History collection contains audiovisual materials (moving images, audio), texts and still images from the 1850s to the present. The majority of the collection consists of news footage and oral histories, and include subject topics such as Sunset Tower Records, Charles Manson, The Black Panthers, Ronald Regan, Patty Hearst, The Free Speech movement and more. The collection also includes a series of Gold Rush-era newspapers published in Sacramento, San Francisco, and the surrounding areas.
